The Big Bad Shop FAQ!

As a one-person show, it’s important to me to be open and honest about my business practices. Read on to hear the answer to every shop FAQ I can think of!

Psst- If I still missed your question feel free to email me anytime!

Production/Sourcing

I find a lot of joy in making products in my home studio, but unfortunately with my schedule and abilities it’s not always an option. Rest assured every product* has passed through my hands before they are shipped by me to you!

All semigloss art prints, linocut prints and mini zines are created in my home studio.

Risograph prints (Flail print, Anachronism zine) are printed by Clatter Press based in Columbus.

Bandanas are screen printed, either by yours truly or the lovely folks at Future Ink Graphics in Cleveland. Always hand printed!

Blankets/Tapestries* are woven on jacquard looms by FiberArt, based in North Carolina. Every blanket is woven on demand in an effort to reduce textile waste. You can read more about this process and FiberArt’s commitment to sustainability here. This is the only product that doesn’t pass directly through me before it is sent to you, but I have received many samples and am very happy with the quality!

Vinyl Stickers are created by Vinyl Disorder based in California.

Shipping Fees

Most orders will have a $5 US ($15 for non-US) shipping fee, as prints must be sent in a rigid mailer to prevent damage.

If you order only stickers the envelope mail option will be available for free shipping on stickers. (Please note that if you order prints and stickers or a mix of items they will all be sent in one package where applicable.)

Please note that due to the changing regulations and strikes worldwide I am currently only shipping to the US and UK.

I don’t make this decision lightly, and I plan to monitor developing situations to be able to reach as many countries as possible. If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Fulfillment/Delivery Time

I try to check orders every business morning and get them in the mail as fast as possible. Please allow up to 5 business days for me to get your order in the mail.

After placing your order, you will receive an email confirming your purchase. Once I’ve fulfilled your order you will receive another email with your order tracking number. Please note sticker mail with the free envelope option is not tracked. If there are any unforeseen delays with your order, I will be in contact with you via email to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Sustainable Packaging

We live in a world of highly branded packaging, aesthetic unboxings and rampant waste. I acknowledge as a business I will inherently add to this issue, but it’s important to me to regulate the amount of waste I create.

I try to package all orders from my shop as sustainably as possible. This includes reusing packaging and avoiding adding extra elements to my packages (I like to add little freebie gifts, though!) It might be less cute, but kinder to the planet! :)

I am still using plastic sleeves for prints as I haven't found a good, sustainable alternative yet. I am also using clear packing tape for attaching labels for the same reason. I am always researching and looking for improvements with my packing, and strive to always do better on this matter. Thank you for your understanding!

Orders will include purchased items, a business card or way to contact me, and a thank you note. Please keep in mind that blankets come directly from the weaving studio and will not include a business card or thank you note.

Misc. FAQs

  • I’m so sorry! I try my best to keep track of what’s most popular and keep it well stocked. But some items (bandanas, riso prints, etc.) take some planning and labor to make happen. The best way to let me know something is in demand is telling me- on socials or by email! I also sometimes open preorders for really popular items I can’t seem to keep in stock.

  • I’m so flattered you’re looking to buy something I’ve posted! Most of the work I make that gets enough attention will end up on the store. Unfortunately some of the work I share is commissioned or otherwise not appropriate for me to sell individually.

  • Unfortunately my current work schedule doesn’t allow me time to take on private commissions. THANK YOU for wanting to support small artists though! I’m sure you’ll be able to find the perfect artist taking commissions for what you have in mind :)

  • I sell at about 3 in-person events on average every year. I’d like to do more but the effort and travel it takes to vend in person can be exhausting along with my other project schedules. I try to keep my socials notified of where I’m headed! If you see me at an event please come say hi! I’d love to meet you :)
